This is a monumental event, considering I haven't been in nearly a year - although the woman behind the counter tried to tell me I'd been in on 2 May! Whoever wants to pretend to be me at the gym needs their head read... though I guess their stats might look quite shiny next time they weighed in as "me". Shrug.

I am off to a team building exercise involving golf and alcohol this afternoon, neither of which I will be participating in, thanks to my dodgy shoulder and maydetox. The things I do to make coworkers happy continue to astound me.

So... who's got plans for their economic stimulus bonus? I find the whole concept pandering, annoying, worthless, and even more laughable in the face of rapidly rising food and petrol prices. So, technically, I'm not doing anything special with mine. I might "put it" towards a high interest CD which I'd been thinking about opening anyway - I figure I've got a year before I need my savings.

But honestly, I figure I've actually spent it on my SEXY HOT NEW MACBOOK. IT IS AWESOME.
<3 This will actually be around longer than spending it on gas and every day I will putz around with my lovely shiny laptop and think about how much I hate politicians but how much I like $600.

Remember the First Pair Of Real Shorts In Forever that I mentioned last week? Boy, am I glad to have them, because usually-chilly San Francisco is experiencing some hardcore Global Warming lately. Yesterday it got up to 97°F!! Do you know how hot that is!? That is 36°C!! And usually it's like... 60s-and-70s-°F!! Jeezy Creezy. So, rocking the shorts. I'm not as uncomfortable as I thought I'd be 'cause I've apparently toned my legs a lot in Boston. All that walkin'!

Went to SFMOMA yesterday for the first time! With old ASIJ friend Malyn! He seems to be doing all right, if a little bored in Palo Alto. Loved SFMOMA! Had gelato in the Castro afterwards, where fafillions of San Franciscans were having a block party to celebrate the lifted ban on gay marriages in California. Which is reason to celebrate! Yay for California! Now let's see how this will pan out in November...

The Replacements - Tim



Apparently my livejournaling style is to not post anything for a week and then make five posts in two days. No particular reason for this one, I'm just really into the Replacements right now (though Tim is the only full album of theirs I have, sad face) and I want to share it with anybody who doesn't yet have it. It's great, loud indie rock from the mid-80s that actually isn't always loud, but don't tell yer mom that. Personal favorites include "Left of the Dial," "Bastards of Young," and I can't stop listening to "Waitress in the Sky" lately, though the whole album is really good (there are only two songs I skip regularly). And for those not ~in the know~ this is who TMBG are literally singing about in We're the Replacements.

I woke up this morning with a mullet and 4 dogs. It looks like I'm already infected with THE GAY, so if you haven't already had it, you probably shouldn't kiss me. I've also been sexually harassing myself for hours now by staring at my own breasts.

Clearly, we're all doomed.

If stuff doesn't get finished for fanime, it's because it is 90 or hotter upstairs in my sewing area and I have to iron PLEATS. I shall PERISH in this heat trying to do that!

Also I still hate doing those patches -_-


edit: I don't think I've ever used the "hot" mood before, because man, I think I'd remember that it looks more like BURNING IN HELLFIRE than just kind of miserably warm. D:
